Self-Esteem
You may have heard growing up or much of your life negative messages that became your story. They were often rooted in shame. You may have hidden behind that shame and thought that it was the only story you would have. You may have started believing those narratives and the negative messages. Your voice started to sound like the voices of peers, parents, or significant others.
These messages lead you to doubting yourself or loving yourself less a little every day. It can be impacting body image, confidence, relationships with others, etc. With societal pressures or pressures from family, it can feel like no one loves you so why should you. There is hope. You can hea. These messages can be changed or stopped. Whether you are telling them to yourself or hearing it from others they can stop.
“The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely.”
― C.G. Jung.
“There is no magic cure, no making it all go away forever. There are only small steps upward; an easier day, an unexpected laugh, a mirror that doesn’t matter anymore.”
-Laurie Halse Anderson
